Lewandowski artwork picked for international exhibition

Artist E.P. Lewandowski of Alpena is one of 59 artists whose artwork has been selected for the Pencil Art Society International Open Juried Exhibition. Artists from 11 countries will be featured at beautiful Repentigny Exhibition Centre in Repentigny, Quebec from Aug. 23-Sept. 21.

“I was delighted to receive the notice this past week and especially pleased to hear that the juror, Richard Pedneault of the Lauier Museum, chose two of my drawings,” Lewandowski said. “It is quite an honor to share a venue with some of the best pencil artists in the world.”

Lewandowski’s entries, “Crevice Stream II and Landscape VI,” represent two areas of concentration: waterscapes and landscapes studies. His waterscape drawing has been an award-winning image for several events in recent years (Best of Show at the Southwest National Contemporary Realism Competition and Best of Show at the Michigan Colored 2012 Competition) while his landscape study is part of a new series entitled, “Southwest Landscape Images.”

The artist and his wife, Mary, live in the Alpena area along the shoreline of Lake Huron. For more information about the artist visit his website at www.erwinplewandowski.com.
