AARP chapter dissolving
Members of the Alpena American Association of Retired Persons, Chapter 4698, met June 12 for their final meeting. Due to lack of membership and leaders, the group has decided to dissolve.
The final meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and singing of “America the Beautiful.” Chaplain Pat P. LaHaie read a prayer.
A donation was made to Hospice. Fruit baskets were won by Shelby Benoit and Marvin Schuelke. The 50/50 drawing was won by Dorothy Wachowski. Get well wishes went out to Bob Fournier. A thank-you was sent to Terry Curtis, owner of Perch’s IGA, for donating the food baskets.
On lunch committee for the meeting was Jeanne Polluch.
