Clarence Hector Caverly, 82, of Hillman, passed away Monday, June 9, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family.

Clarence was born in Mt. Morris on Sept. 27, 1931, to the late William and Margaret (Killinger) Caverly; and, on July 17, 1954, he married the former Mary Jean Barrie. She preceded him in death on Oct. 15, 2009. Hector served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Later he worked for the State of Michigan and General Motors as a power plant engineer. He was a member of Calvary Episcopal Church, Hillman Senior Citizens, and VFW Montmorency Post 2356.

Surviving are three daughters, Dawn Caverly of Hillman, Susan (fiance William Peters) Caverly of Tecumseh, Carol (Randy) Drangin of Warren; two sisters, Phylis Goodrich, Margaret Barrie; two sisters-in-law, Mary Caverly and Minerva Caverly.

Mr. Caverly was preceded in death by an infant brother, Edwin Caverly, two brothers, Lee Caverly and Richard Caverly; two brothers-in-law, Thomas Goodrich and Ronald Barrie.

Memorial visitation will take place at the Calvary Episcopal Church in Hillman on Sunday, June 22, 2014, from 1 p.m. until time of memorial service at 2 p.m. with Rev. Mary Fitzgerald officiating. Military honors will be accorded him at the cemetery by VFW Montmorency Post 2356. Arrangements are being handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.
