Dale Archie Stevens, 92, of 5861 F41, Spruce, passed away at Alpena Regional Medical Center on Monday, May 19, 2014.

Dale was born on May 15, 1922, to the late Charles and Viola (Brodbeck) Stevens in Archbold, Ohio. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and later was employed as a machinist. Dale married Norma Berlinski Feb. 14, 1947, and she preceded him in death August, 1973. On Sept. 15, 1976, he married the former Verina Christian.

Mr. Stevens was a member of the Ossineke United Methodist Church, V.F.W. Spruce #6754 and a P.O.W.

Surviving are his wife, Verina; four sons, Ronald (Cheryl), Wayne (Julie), Glenn (Darlene), Marshall (Amy); three daughters, MaryLynn (David) Milatz, Janet Pilsberry, Kimberly Pink; 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Caribell Sobeck, Ethel Witik; and a sister-in-law, Mary Jane Stevens.

Preceding him in death were three brothers, John, Donald “Sam,” Earl; and a sister, Mary Hursh.

Memorial visitation will be Saturday, June 14, 2014, from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. at the Ossineke United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Kelley officiating. Military honors will be accorded him at the cemetery at 1:30 p.m. by V.F.W. Spruce #6754 and V.F.W. Alpena #2496. Arrangements are being handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.
