ASO to perform summer concert
Plan to attend the annual June performance by the Alpena Symphony Orchestra. Entitled “Dynamic Sounds of Summer,” the concert will be held June 13 at 7:30 p.m. in the Alpena High School Auditorium.
The orchestra will be directed by David Sawtelle, orchestra instructor at the Crooked Tree Arts Center in Petoskey. Musical selections by the composer Mozart, Grieg, Bach and Zdechlik will be performed.
The Bach “Concerto for Oboe and Violin in C Minor” will feature oboe soloist Emily June of Mt. Pleasant and violinist Eric Lawson of Alpena. The wind and brass sections of the orchestra will perform Zdechlik’s “Shaker Tune and Dance.”
Tickets are on sale at Neiman’s Family Market, by ASO board members and at the door. Prices are $10 for adult, $5 for students, $25 for families and free for ages under 6.
