Herbert D. Schuetz Jr., 75, of Alpena went home to his Lord and Savior on May 27, 2014.

Herb was born May 7, 1939, to Herbert and Helen (Schultz) Schuetz Sr. He live in Alpena most of his life and was an over the road driver for St. Louis Freight Lines and Tandem Transport for over 30 years. Herb was a member of Huron Shores Fellowship and part of the ushers group.

Surviving are his wife, Carol (Krentz), son, Steve of Alpena, daughter, Rhonda (Norm) Goeke of Knoxville, Tenn., and grandson, Cody Childs of Redding, Calif. Also surviving is his mother-in-law, Dorothy Krentz, brothers-in-law, Wayne (Marilyn) Krentz, Stan (Cindy) Krentz, Dale (Fran) Krentz and best friends, George and Marilyn VanWormer and their three sons. He was preceded in death by his son, John, his parents, Herb and Helen Schuetz, his brother, Jim, his father-in-law, Albert Krentz and an infant sister-in-law, Mary.

Herb has been taken for cremation by McWilliams Funeral Home Alpena. Family and friends will gather on Friday May 30, 2014, from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. at Huron Shores Fellowship with Rev. Dr. Barry Stricker officiating.
