George Bauman departed this world on May 24, 2014, at 11:15 a.m. to meet his maker. He came into this world on July 13, 1938 in Detroit, Mich., to George and Rhea (Maope) Bauman who preceded him to heaven’s gates. He has worked in many different places, but retired from NEMROC of Alpena after 30 years of service. George moved into a new home May 1, 2003, and quickly became a part of the family. Thomas, Linda Brazeal and family will miss him very much. Surviving are extended family Jennifer Chism and her children Draven, Katie, Kalix, Aiden, Rhys and Nya. Jessica Souva (Michael) their sons Justin, and Tristan who spent lots of hours playing with him and having fun. James Bates II, his son Hunter, extended family in Tennessee and Missouri. George was loved by anyone that knew him. There are many others who loved and enjoyed spending time with him. Hentkowski Funeral Home in Rogers City is in care of cremation arrangements. George will return home with Tom and Linda forever more, as George never wanted to move again. There will be a small family and friends memorial service at 8631 W. Long Lake Rd., Alpena, Mich., with Father James Kendziorski on June 14, 2014, at 2 p.m. So come celebrate his life, and know he is with Mom and Dad, playing on the big swing set in the heavens above. Amen.
