Margaret Adeline, 94, of 2563 Fifth Avenue, Alpena, passed away Friday May 16, 2014, at home.

She was born Sept. 29, 1919, in Alpena County to Gottlieb and Augusta (Kran) Kirschner. On Sept. 1, 1940, Rev. Mouler married Margaret and Harry G. Straley, Jr. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Alpena. Margaret began working at a very early age. After her marriage she moved to Detroit while her husband was in the service and she worked for Chevy Gear & Axle and Bud Wheel. Several years later, Margaret and her husband moved to Tawas City and later to Alpena where he managed the A&P stores. Margaret has been a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Alpena since she was 18 years old. She was also City Bowling Champ and a member of The Garden Club.

She is survived by four children, Betty Skiba (Jim DeBoer) of Jenison, Mich., Harvey Straley (Barbara King) of Alpena, Mike Straley of Central Lake, William (Theresa) Straley of Alpena; eight grandchildren, Debbie, Tammy, Harvey Jr., Jody, Allen, Rebecca, Melissa, Matthew; seven great-grandchildren, Ryan, Brit, Bradley, Breanna, Natalie, Austin, Aubrey; two great-great-grandchildren, Brayla, Myla; two sisters, Erna Kramer of Alpena, Freida McDonald of Ossineke; her brother, Donald (Betty) Kirschner of Alpena; sisters-in-law, Vivian Straley, Joan Straley both of Alpena and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Harry on Jan. 23, 1990, three brothers, Theodore, Arnold and Herman Kirschner; a sister, Linda Pake; three half-sisters, Olga Hoppe, Ida Schepke, Amanda Kihn, a half-brother, Edmund Kirschner and a great-grandson, Landon Keyes.

Margaret Straley is at McWilliams Funeral Home – Alpena where friends may call on Sunday, May 18, 2014, from 2 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 4 p.m. with Rev.
