Robert John Werth, 79, passed away on April 19, 2014, at Pine Tree Place in Clarkston, Mich. Bob was born in Detroit, Mich., on Feb. 20, 1935, to the late Harold and Mary (Stephens) Werth. He spent most of his early life in southeast Michigan and graduated from West Bloomfield High School. Bob served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1957 to 1967 and married Denise Sorbilli in 1967. They relocated to Presque Isle, Mich., in 1973 with their daughters and later started a business, Grand Lake Building, Plumbing, and Heating. Bob was a Master Plumber and Journeyman Electrician, and he built many homes in Presque Isle and the Grand Lake area. Bob later moved to Alpena, Mich., and retired to Panama City, Fla. He was an avid fisherman and especially enjoyed fishing year-round in Florida.

Bob is predeceased by his brothers, William and Thomas Werth. He is survived by his former wife, Denise (Michael) Wekwert of Alpena, Mich.; daughters, Karen (William) Weinrauch of Clarkston, Mich., and Jennifer (Graham) Heitz of Portage, Wis.; grandsons, Ethan and Owen Heitz of Portage, Wis.; and granddaughter, Emily Weinrauch of Clarkston, Mich. He is also survived by his brother, James (Mindy) Werth of White Lake, Mich.; sister, Sally (Chauncey) Smith of Hartland, Mich.; sister, Ann (Nick) Carlini of Grass Valley, Calif., and many nieces and nephews.

Bob enjoyed taking his family fishing and sharing his expertise with those interested in the sport. Many family members, friends, and neighbors have fond memories of fishing with Bob and sharing his catch. He will be lovingly remembered for his generosity and deeply missed by his family and friends.

Arrangements were handled by Generations Funeral and Cremation Services in Farmington Hills, Mich. Inurnment will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Mich, during a private ceremony. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution may do so to the National Brain Tumor Society or Mercy Home Care/Mercy Hospice – Oakland.
