Trying to apply some of the Republican logic

I would like to apply the Republican logic to the minimum wage battle being fought throughout our Country. We all know that if you raise the minimum wage then the cost of everything will also go up and businesses will have to reduce their workforce.

I think the best thing to do is reduce the minimum wage to $5 per hour so more people can be hired and the cost of everything will go down.

That should be followed by reducing the wage to $3 per hour so more people can be hired and everything will cost even less. If we keep reducing the minimum wage, more and more people will be put to work and the cost of everything will be less and less. We can reach the point that everyone will have five or six jobs at no pay at all and everything will be free.

Now that is what I call a great society. When the people with a stack of money don’t have to spend it and they can just lay beside their pool with hired hands clipping their toenails, cutting their hair for them and of course cleaning that pool and all the hired hands get no pay.

Now don’t be calling me at 2:35 a.m. objecting to this letter because this isn’t my logic, this is the Republican logic, and this is what I have to argue against every day, even though I don’t have to work for minimum wage because I’m retired.

Our next discussions will be about Affordable Health Care and Equal Rights for all people.

P.S. I don’t even own a pool but I’m a male, I’m white, I’m straight and I have Health Care. Wow I have it made.
