Alpena Community College broke ground for its new Ferris H. Werth Electrical Power Technology Center Thursday with college employees and supporters of the new center. Contributors, staff and community members gathered to celebrate the hard work of those involved in the Building a Powerful Future fundraising campaign to make the new center possible, along with family members of the late Ferris H. Werth, who bequested $1 million to the college toward a new facility.
“We’re celebrating the progression from a vision several years ago, to a reality which will take place before our very eyes over the next few months,” president Olin Joynton said.
