MIO- Ben Lubitz scored 24 points and the Mio boys basketball team defeated Posen 65-41 on Friday night.

Mio (10-1) had a steady lead over Posen (9-3, 5-1 North Star League), leading 12-5 after the first quarter, 30-18 at the half and 49-29 headed into the fourth quarter.

Leon Beccard put 14 points on the board for Posen.

Mio will be back on Tuesday in Lake City.

Atlanta 70,

Rogers City 52

ATLANTA- Jacob Chambers led the Atlanta boys basketball to victory against Rogers City Friday night with 22 points in a 70-52 victory.

Taylor Juergens contributed 16 points for Atlanta, while Jay Webster and Seth Teets scored 10 and 11 points, respectively.

Alex Hincka was Rogers City’s leading scorer with 22 points.

The first three quarters favored Atlanta. The Huskies led 14-10 after one quarter, 36-18 at the half and 56-27 after three quarters.

Rogers City picked up in the final quarter and scored 25 points to Atlanta’s 14.

Atlanta will play against Oscoda Tuesday at home.

Hillman 60,

Fairview 37

FAIRVIEW- Dylan Ross had a career high Friday night with 17 points and the Hillman boys basketball team defeated Fairview 60-37 for its seventh straight win.

“He played the best game of the year for us,” Hillman coach Eric Muszynski said.

Brenden Zimmer contributed 15 points, and Mike Klein added 11 for Hillman (11-1, 7-0 NSL).

The Tigers led 20-10 after the first quarter and 31-22 at the half and 49-27 after three quarters.

“The key was the third quarter, where we outscored 18-5. We led start to finish, but the third was the big push,” Muszynski said.

Hillman will be in Hale Tuesday.

Alcona 59, Hale 51

LINCOLN-Trenton LaVergne scored 33 points and the Alcona boys basketball team defeated Hale at home on Friday 59-51.

Carson Jamieson added 12 for the Tigers.

Alcona hosts Posen on Tuesday.



Bellaire 52, Hillman 42

HILLMAN- The Bellaire girls basketball team defeated Hillman 52-42 on Friday night.

The first three quarters favored Bellaire. The Eagles led 18-14 after one quarter, 27-23 at the half and 40-27 after three quarters.

Jensen Tchorzynski led Hillman (4-7) with 27 points

Hillman plays in Hale Monday.
