ACC men, women fall
LIVONIA-The Alpena Community College men and women lost against Schoolcraft on Wednesday. The men lost 91-79 while the women lost 76-52.
The ACC women (4-7, 1-3 Eastern Conference) trailed Schoolcraft 38-29 at the half.
“We couldn’t make a shot (in the second half) and we had a hard time getting it back on defense,” ACC women’s coach Bobby Allen said.
Whitney Frazier picked up a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Sandy Bischoff had nine points and six rebounds.
The ACC men (3-9, 1-3 Eastern Conference) led Schoolcraft 48-42 at the half before falling behind in the second.
“Our legs just gave out on us. We’ve got to be more patient on offense and wait for things to open up. Our defense wasn’t too bad tonight, though,” Allen said.
Kharri Dailey picked up 23 points, eight rebounds and nine assists.
“Our center’s combined had 12 rebounds tonight. (Dailey) is just an incredible player,” Allen said.
Travon Howard had 22 points and eight rebounds for the Lumberjacks.
The ACC women host Henry Ford Community College at 3 p.m. while the men play at 5 p.m.
