CADILLAC-Adrianna Hatch scored 17 points for the Alpena girls basketball team on Tuesday, but the Wildcats ultimately fell to Cadillac 50-42 and remain winless on the season.

“We were very competitive and played hard throughout the game,” Alpena coach Dan Arsenault said. “We’re looking forward to having another opportunity to improve.

Jenna Talbot added 11 points for Alpena (0-5, 0-3 Big North).

Alpena’s JV team improved to 5-0 with a 44-43 win over the Vikings. Sam Szymanski, Elise Leeck and Jordan Modrzynski all had nine points for Alpena.

Alpena’s freshman team lost 65-33. Taylor Kunath led Alpena with 11 points and Katie Mack added 10.

Rogers City 51

ROGERS CITY-Carson Jamieson and Trenton LaVergne each scored 21 points for the Alcona boys basketball team in a 66-51 win over Rogers City on Thursday.

Alcona is 3-3 on the season and 2-2 in the North Star League.
