Beat the Geek Contest returns
The matchups are set for this year’s slate of college bowl games, which means it’s time for everyone’s favorite holiday tradition from The Alpena News.
The annual Beat the Geek contest is back for another year.
All you have to do is fill out the entry sheet that’s displayed here and turn it into The News by Dec. 24. If you mail your entry, it must be postmarked by that date.
The Little Caesars Pizza Bowl between Bowling Green and is the first of 20 games listed in this year’s contest, which concludes with the BCS Championship Game between Florida State and Auburn. The tiebreaker for the contest is selecting the total number of points you think will be scored in the national championship game.
Make sure your entry is filled out completely before submitting it to the contest.
The entry form will be available in the paper throughout the next two weeks and online at thealpenanews.com under Local Sports. So if someone you know doesn’t live nearby, they can still enter the contest.
As usual, there will be some great prizes which will be announced in the coming weeks.
So don’t hesitate to fill out your entry and send it in. Last year Luke McMurray was the contest winner, picking 18 games correctly and there were lots of entries that beat the Geek as the Geek only picked 10 games correctly.
Could this be the year you Beat the Geek?
