Ready for a Hillman Halloween

HILLMAN -The annual Hillman Community Halloween Party is set for tonight, but this year the venue has changed. The party will be held at the Hillman MediLodge at 631 Caring Street from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

“A lot of our donations for the party came from area businesses and volunteers,” MediLodge Activities Director Krista Weiland said. “The Hillman chamber donated a girl’s and a boy’s bike for a raffle, and volunteers from area businesses will be helping with the games and the haunted house inside.”

There will be outdoor games for children to win prizes, and inside there will be hot cocoa and apple cider for those wishing to warm up.

“We’re having a walk-through haunted house and residents will be passing out candy for the children,” Weiland said. “There’s a sugar cookie decorating station where the kids can choose and decorate their own cookies at the party.”

MediLodge expects a good turnout based on the previous Halloween events around the community.

“We’re getting ready for around 400 kids,” Weiland said. “We hope the trick-or-treaters will go to the trunk-or-treat events around town and visit the area businesses and then come here and enjoy ours. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”
