BELLAIRE-The Onaway volleyball team clinched a share of the Ski Valley Conference title with a sweep over Bellaire on Tuesday, 25-20, 25-16, 26-24.

No. 3 Onaway (37-6-3) improves to 7-0 in the conference and can win the title outright with a win next Tuesday at Mancelona.

“The girls played really solidly. Bellaire isn’t bad and they move the ball well,” Onaway coach Steve Watson said.

Mariah Ehrke led Onaway with 10 kills and 17 digs; Devin Bristley had nine kills, two aces and 15 digs; Lexi Szymoniak had eight kills and 16 digs; Sara Fullerton had seven kills, five aces and 11 digs; Taylor Ehrke had 27 assists, two kills and 11 digs; and Elise Arkwood and Brianna Fitzpatrick had four digs each.

Posen 3, Atlanta 1

ATLANTA-The Posen volleyball team used a total team effort to earn a four-set North Star League win over Atlanta on Thursday, 25-10, 25-14, 20-25, 25-11.

“All the girls played really good. Everybody got to attack the ball and everyone got a kill,” Posen coach Michelle Mulka said.

Ashley Meyers had nine aces and a kill for the Vikings; Korynn Hincka had 12 kills and two aces and Mercedes Kowalski had 23 assists.

Posen hosts Au Gres on Thursday.

Oscoda 3, Alcona 0

OSCODA-The Alcona volleyball team was swept in three sets by Oscoda on Tuesday, 17-25, 17-25, 16-25.

Sam Zerbst had three aces, Kalie Zerbst had eight assists and Karina Cole had eight kills and 11 digs for Alcona.

Alcona plays Hillman on Thursday.
