TAWAS-The Alcona football team stretched their winning streak to 4-0 on Friday, picking up a 34-14 win against Tawas.

“The first half ended at 22-6 and we made some adjustments and got some more scores. Overall, the boys played pretty well,” Alcona assistant coach Terry Franklin said.

Cody Franklin ran for 125 yards on 15 carries, picking up three touchdowns. Nathan Fettes had two touchdowns and 167 yards on 14 carries.

Josh Mead led Alcona defense with 15 tackles. Lucas Weichel had 11 and Garrette Norling had nine.

Alcona hosts Whittemore-Prescott next Friday.


Posen 3, Fairview 1

FAIRVIEWThe Posen volleyball team picked up a win against Fairview on Thursday, winning in four sets, 25-16, 25-16, 20-25 and 25-22.

Korynn Hincka had 16 kills and five blocks for Posen. Mercedes Kowalski had 13 assists, while Monica Bartz had six aces, four kills and three blocks.

Posen travels to Tawas on Monday.
