Feeling good not the same as being healthy

The biggest problem with our health care crisis today is a lack of understanding of what real health is … and the knowledge of a safe, simple and affordable way to improve our health on a regular basis.

Today, “health care” is in actuality “sick care,” and has little to do with real health. Our country spends more on “health” care (sic) than any other country in the world, and yet those under that care are not the healthiest by a long shot.

Being healthy is not the same thing as “feeling” good. We can “feel good” and not be healthy. We can “feel” good one minute and drop dead the next. Only 20 percent of the nerves in the body are capable of carrying signals interpreted as pain, so a person could lose 80 percent of their health and still “feel” good!

Better health equals better function, period. “Health” is defined by the W.H.O. (World Health Organization) as … “a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.”

On a personal level our health is controlled and coordinated by the impulses traveling from our Brain stem to all other parts of our body. Misaligned spinal bones that interfere with the normal function of the Brain stem (vertebral subluxations) necessarily contribute to a loss of health … regardless of how we “feel.”

Doctors of Chiropractic have been safely and affordably helping people enjoy the benefits of better health by correcting these subluxations for over 100 years. Maybe if we spent more time doing common sense things to improve our health (i.e. receiving regular Chiropractic Brain stem Adjustments) – regardless of how we “felt” – we would all enjoy better heath year round … and we wouldn’t be in a crisis in the first place.
