RC Kiwanis to host annual Fall Fest Saturday
ROGERS CITY – Fall is coming, and the Rogers City Kiwanis Club once again is holding Fall Fest in Westminster Park Saturday to celebrate.
Starting at 10 a.m., the day includes more than 50 arts and crafts vendors, many of which are new to the festival, Kiwanis member Debbie Stiller said. There will be a farmers market, as well as games and activites for kids. Local musicians will play throughout the festival.
“Things are starting to wrap up for the season,” she said. “This is one last chance to get out and have a nice afternoon.”
The Kiwanis Club is sponsoring the festival for the second year, although its origins go back much farther, Stiller said. The club’s fish shack will be serving whitefish sandwiches, an attraction that almost always draws a crowd.
For the kids, there will be two bounce houses, with a bigger one for older kids and a smaller one for youngsters, Stiller said. The Rogers City Key Club, a Kiwanis affiliate, will help with these and other kids activites. Local Girl Scout and Boy Scout troops will be there as well to build membership.
Numerous churches and civic groups will hold bake sales and other fundraisers at the festival, and local organizations will offer educational programs, Stiller said. This includes the Presque Isle County Soil Conservation District, which has a new forester in town.
Overall, the festival should be a fun and family-friendly one, Stiller said.
“It’s a real solid community event, everybody always looks forward to it,” she said.
