Two local titleholders competing at state level
Two local young ladies are traveling to Muskegon to compete for the titles of Miss Michigan and Miss Michigan’s Outstanding Teen.
Alexandra Kramer, Miss Sunrise Side 2012, will compete for the title of Miss Michigan. Preliminary competition begins June 13-14 with Miss Michigan being crowned June 15. Contestants will compete in interview, talent, evening wear, on-stage question and swimwear.
Kramer will be performing a flute solo for her talent and her platform is “U R Not Alone: Outreach for Today’s Youth.” She is currently enrolled at Saginaw Valley State University where she is sophomore. She is the 18-year-old daughter of Paul and Ann Kramer of Lincoln.
Caitlin Borke, Miss Sunrise Side Teen 2012, will compete for the title of Miss Michigan’s Outstanding Teen. Preliminary competition is June 11 with Miss Michigan’s Outstanding Teen being crowned on June 12.
Contestants will compete in interview, talent, evening wear, on-stage question and active wear. Borke will be performing a vocal/piano solo for her talent and her platform is “Find Your Voice.” She is a senior at Alpena High School. She is the 17-year-old daughter of Ron and Lynn Borke of Hubbard Lake.
The Miss Sunrise Side Scholarship Pageant is directed by Katie Lee and Cari Stenz and is a local preliminary competition in the Miss America Organization. The winner of the Miss Michigan Pageant will compete for the title of Miss America in September.
The winner for Miss Michigan’s Outstanding Teen will compete for the title of Miss America’s Outstanding Teen in August.
