Spring Fest Saturday in Rogers City

ROGERS CITY – The Rogers City Spring Fest, complete with an arts and crafts show, music and activities for kids, is Saturday.

Starting at 10 a.m. and going until 6 p.m. at Westminster Park, the event will feature an arts and crafts show with a wide variety of offerings, organizer Debbie Stiller said. There also will be activities for children, and performances by a handful of acoustic musicians.

Artists and crafters will be selling everything from woodworking to photography, from jewelry to baked goods, Stiller said.

“It’s a good, full house with a lot of new faces along with our solid regular crowd for the art show,” she said.

There will be a number of events for kids, organized by the Key Club, a subchapter of the Kiwanis Club, Stiller said. These include games like bowling, and a clown will be performing as well.

The Kiwanis Fish Shack will be at the park, selling its fish sandwiches and fries, Stiller said. There also will be a Chinese auction of items donated by the artists and crafters participating in the event. Money raised will go to the Kiwanis Club of Rogers City to support future events.

“Everything’s about the kids,” she said. “It’s a good family organization.”

A few musicians will perform at the event, Stiller said. It’ll be more of an informal performance, with a woman on dulcimer and a man on guitar.

“You never know who’s going to show up,” she said. “Sometimes some friends come along and you get a little jam session going.”

The event is free to attend, Stiller said.
