A plan to solve our infrastructure problems
Adding a $5 per month tax to each electric and gas bill would be a relatively painless and fair way to solve the problems with Michigan There are 3.8 million households in Michigan. Every member of each household uses some sort of transportation. Whether it is electric, hybrid car, gasoline, diesel, public transportation, bike paths, etc. This tax would raise approximately $4.8 billion. Additional revenue (probably another Billion or more) would come in from small businesses that have utilities.
We need $1.1 billion for roads. The remainder could be used for lowering property taxes, income taxes, etc. The monthly amount is low enough to not severely impact any individual.
