Editorial: Expo a great way to beat cabin fever

Today marks the 14th Alpena News Business Expo at the APlex.

Over the years the Expo has been a wonderful opportunity for area residents to enjoy a winter Saturday and talk with local businesses, see the newest in product lines and services, stock up on their reading supplies for the rest of the season and perhaps go home with a new scarf, skin product or jewelry from one of the arts and crafts vendors.

In other words, the Business Expo pretty much has something for everyone – including food! This year’s food vendor is the Arby’s Relay for Life team.

We believe we discovered a universal truth back in 2000 with the first Business Expo, and that is that if you put together a good show, advertise it well and have a venue large enough to handle big crowds, people will come out for it in the middle of winter.

Truth is, it is the perfect escape for those of us suffering from a little from those Cabin Fever Blues that seem to occur this time of year.

We hope to see you today somewhere between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the APlex. And best of all, admission is free.

Guaranteed, the Expo has something of interest for everyone in the family.
