Alpena hockey team falls to Reps

TRAVERSE CITY-For the second straight weekend the Alpena hockey team came home from Traverse City with a loss.

The Wildcats rallied from a 2-0 deficit in the first period, but ultimately fell to the Traverse Bay Reps 4-3 in overtime on Saturday.

Zach Nash had a goal for the Wildcats (6-6), who lit the lamp three times in the middle frame, but surrendered a goal in the last second of regulation.

“It was a devestating loss,” Pete Doubek said. “But the kids battled hard. It was a good game.”

Alpena was also dealt a hard blow as defenseman Brad Lorenz went down with an injury and is done for the the season.

The Wildcats will take the ice again on Friday and Saturday for the Boosters Tournament at Northern Lights Arena.
