Kirtland tops ACC

The Alpena Community College men’s and women’s basketball team’s still have yet to gain a win in 2013 after both teams fell to Kirtland on Saturday on the road.

The ACC men’s team lost 67-52 despite a 21-point effort from Kharri Dailey. William Gates Jr. added 18 points for the Lumberjacks (3-11 overall, 0-4 MCCAA Eastern) who have lost five straight games.

The ACC women’s team fell to Kirtland 79-63 to lose it’s fourth straight game.

Sherri Smith led the Lumberjacks (4-9 overall, 0-4 MCCAA Eastern) with 18 points and Lauren Seibert added 15 points.

The Lumberjacks will hosts Schoolcraft on Wednesday. The womnen’s game begins at 5:30 p.m. and the men’s game will follow at 7:30 p.m.

Schoolcraft is currently 9th in conference standings for both its men’s and women’s teams while Alpena is 10th.
