Parker pleads guilty to 3 counts
ROGERS CITY – A Millersburg man pleaded guilty to 10 charges of child sexually abusive activity and criminal sexual conduct, and could serve up to 20 years in prison.
On Monday, David Wayne Parker told 53rd Circuit Court he had taken pictures of two childrens’ genitals and the exposed backside of a third. On three occasions he took pictures of himself touching one of the children. Two of the victims were seven years old, with one aged eight. Parker, 56, said he took the pictures in Millersburg and Cheboygan, taking one while visiting friends outside the county.
Originally charged with 15 felonies in Nov. 21, Parker will plead guilty to three counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct and seven counts of child sexually abusive activity. Four counts of sexually abusive activity and one count of using a computer to commit a crime will be dismissed, Judge Scott Pavlich said.
As part of the plea agreement, Parker’s sentence will be concurrent and will not exceed sentencing guidelines, Pavlich said. He faces up to 20 years in prison, a $100,000 fine or both, and would be subject to lifetime monitoring as a sex offender.
Parker’s sentencing is set for Feb. 11, Pavlich said.
